Jonathan Edwards - Keyboards

Following his brilliant solo on Slide And Sway (Etarlis) Jon joins us to play keyboards. A third of the songwriting partnership and one sixth of the creative force that was Karnataka, Jon continues to stretch his songwriting imagination to encompass rock, folk, jazz and prog influences in the evergrowing palette of sound that is Panic Room.

Evelyn Downing - vocals, flute

Evelyn is a founder member of Mermaid Kiss. She was with the band full-time until September 2004 when she stepped back from her band commitments to concentrate on her degree in Popular Music and Sound Recording at Salford University from which she graduated in 2006 with a First. Gainful employment in London now allows her the time to make the 400 mile London-Kington-London round trip and is very happy to be back regularly writing, recording and perfoming with the band again.

Andy Garman - Keyboards, Bass, Percussion (recordings)

Andy’s first outing was as a drummer in a three piece rock band in S.E. London called Jaffi before he switched to guitar and formed the five piece country-rock band Chester, which toured the country club circuit. He left the band only to re-join on bass for a tour of N.E. England in the early eighties. Later he got into jazz and played guitar in an excellent pubbing band called Jazz On Que. He gave up playing live in the early nineties to concentrate on recording his own material for fun. That was until Jamie and Evelyn wandered into the Goat Shed one evening....

Jamie Field - Guitars

Jamie’s first band, formed in the sixth form at school, was called Oriole and was a guitar, keyboard, flute trio playing acoustic-prog. Following that he played in a punk band in Canterbury that, in the spirit of the age, didn’t even last long enough to have a name. He then moved to London forming the five piece rock band Close To Zero. He later took a few years out of playing to concentrate on writing before meeting Evelyn and taking up music once again.

Wendy Marks - Woodwind

Wendy first met Jamie whilst studying music at the Guildhall in London. Along with two other friends they played together in CLOSE TO ZERO where she used instruments as diverse as double bass, oboe, recorder and Moroccan shawm! After several years making a living from teaching music and classical playing, Wendy was thrilled to be invited to play with Jamie again and join Mermaid Kiss on their latest album.

Richard Northwood - Bass

Richard moved up to mer-country a couple of years ago. Before that he played Keyboards in a Pink Floyd tribute band and Bass in a few bands before that. He used to teach music (but now ICT - its quieter!) and has a degree in music. Richard joins Mermaid Kiss after having jammed with a few people around Ludlow and last year played for several months with Band of Rain (on Keys) and is now really keen to develop Bass playing again.
