Released in 2006, the Mermaid Kiss EP entitled “Salt On Skin” has 7 tracks.
Two songs, Hollow and Volcano have our original vocalist Evelyn Downing singing lead. Hollow was recorded shortly after the release of The Mermaid Kiss Album in the summer of 2003 and Volcano was recorded over New Year 2004.
Two further songs feature Kate Belcher as lead vocalist. Kate sang with us for the nine months between autumn 2004 and summer 2005 and these songs, Human Zoo and Walk Away, come from that period. Human Zoo, which has a ripping guitar solo from Nigel, was written as a result of a request from the Olympian Shadow Farm label in the US for a Mermaid Kiss track to be included on one of their quarterly compilations.
The remaining three tracks, The Blushing Bride; A Hard Row; and I Go To Sleep, feature Kate Emerson Who’s been working with us recently. I Go To Sleep was recorded at her audition September 30th and The Blushing Bride features some stunning lead guitar from the Panic Room and ex Karnataka lead guitarist, Paul Davies.
